- Water – 72 hour supply (2 litres per person)
- First aid kit

- Battery operated AM/FM radio
- Extra batteries
- Flashlight
- Solar blankets or sleeping bags
- Whistle
Food
- Canned or other non-perishable foods (72 hour supply)
- Pet food (if applicable)
- Non-electric can opener
- Paper cups, plates, and plastic utensils
- Paper towels
- Cooking supplies (camping stove or grill)
- Fuel for cooking equipment
- Aluminum foil
Hygiene
- Toilet paper
- Zipper seal bags for waste disposal
